📖 Commentary of Verse 50 (Surah Hud)

50. Therefore, hasten [57] towards Allah. Surely, I (Muhammad) am a clear warner (58) to you from Him.

[57] Hasten Towards Allah

  • This verse urges people to turn away from everything other than Allah and rush towards Him.

  • It calls for detaching from infidelity, negligence, and sin, and instead, embracing faith, repentance, and seeking Allah's approval.

  • This verse has many interpretations, but fundamentally, it calls for a spiritual transformation towards devotion and righteousness.

[58] The Role of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)

  • Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is a clear warner sent by Allah to guide people towards Him.

  • Turning to the Prophet and seeking his guidance is, in essence, turning towards Allah, as reflected in the verse: “And if when they do injustice unto their souls, then Oh Beloved, they should come to you and then beg forgiveness of Allah…” (S4:V64).
