3. Even if it is apparent revelation, i.e. even if the Qur'aan or a concealed revelation (Hadith), because the Holy Qur'aan, Hadith and every inspirational revelation of the Holy Prophet ﷺ are all Divine revelations.

Reason for its Revelation

Once Abu Sufyaan, Ikramah, Abul Aiwar Aslami etc. came to Madina secretly and put up at the house of the hypocrite, Abdullah bin Ubay. They sought amnesty from the Holy Prophet his court and entered into a dialogue in which they said that the Holy Prophet should not deride their idols, but say that these idols would intercede for their worshippers.

In such an event, we will not say any word against your Lord. The hypocrites supported and pleaded on behalf of the polytheists. The Holy Prophet ﷺ was greatly displeased by this talk and Hazrat Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) showed the intent of slaying them, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ Stopped him. saving that these people have come to seek sanctuary. Hazrat Umar Farooq then expelled these people out of Madina Munawwarah. This verse was revealed on this occasion (Tafseer Rooh Bayaan, Khazamul Irfaan, etc.).

3. This sentence is addressed to the Prophet (peace be upon him) as well as to the Muslims and the opponents of Islam. It means: “If the Prophet (peace be upon him) earns defamation by acting according to the command of Allah, and bears patiently the attacks of the enemy on his honor, his devoted and sincere services will not remain hidden from Allah. The state of the Muslims who remain steadfast in their loyalty to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and of those who are involved in doubts and suspicions will be known to Allah. And Allah will also not remain unaware of the attempts of the disbelievers and the hypocrites who try to defame the Prophet (peace be upon him).”

(2) And follow that which is revealed to you from your Lord. Indeed Allāh is ever, of what you do, Aware.
