📖 Commentary of Surah Al-Ahzab – Verse 48

"And do not do anything for the pleasure of the infidels and the hypocrites, and overlook [123] their annoyance. And put your trust in Allah. And Allah suffices as the Accomplisher. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)"

✅ [123] Ignore Their Harm and Trust in Allah

This verse commands the Prophet ﷺ to avoid appeasing the infidels and hypocrites in any matter. Their objections and demands are rooted in disbelief and deception, and should not influence divine instruction.

He is also instructed to ignore their annoyances—verbal taunts, accusations, or mockery—until the command for physical combat (Jihad) is revealed.

  • Once the command for Jihad against open disbelievers was revealed, the Prophet ﷺ fought them with the sword.

  • Against hypocrites, the battle remained verbal—by exposing, shaming, and refuting their falsehoods.

The verse ends with a powerful reminder:
Put your trust in Allah, for He alone is sufficient to accomplish and protect all matters.
