Transliteration:( Liyas'alas saadiqeena 'an sidqihim; wa a'adda lilkaa fireena 'azaaban aleemaa (section 1) )
20. This question is asked from the Prophets or from those who have declared faith in them regarding this propagation or ask a question from the prophets regarding the infidels as to what reply they had given, concerning the Message conveyed to them.

(33:8) so that (their Lord) may question the truthful about their truthfulness.[16] As for the unbelievers, He has kept a painful chastisement in store for them.[17]
16. That is, Allah has not just taken the covenant but will also question as to how far it has been kept. Then only those who will have kept Allah’s covenant faithfully, will be declared to be the truthful.
17. To understand the theme of(Surah Al-Ahzab, Ayat 1-8) fully, these should be read together with (Surah Al-Ahzab, Ayat 36-41).
[1184]- i.e., that He may ask the prophets what they conveyed to their people and what response they received. "The truthful" may also refer to those who believed in the message conveyed by the prophets and imparted it to others.
