Transliteration:( Wa kam qasamnaa min qaryatin kaanat zaalimatanw wa ansha' naa ba'dahaa qawman aakhareen )
"And how many towns that were oppressing [18], We utterly destroyed and raised up another people after them [19]."
This refers to disbelieving towns, as an infidel wrongs not just himself, but also his family.
Allah says: “Undoubtedly, the association with Allah is a tremendous wrong” (Surah Luqman 31:13),
showing that shirk (polytheism) is the greatest form of injustice.
The verse warns: if you deny faith, your end will be like those destroyed before.
Leaders of Quraish, though powerful, were destroyed—Abu Jahl among them—
while the humble, like the Ansaar of Madinah, were honoured with the service of Islam.
