Quran-21:2 Surah Al-anbiya English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن ذِكۡرٖ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحۡدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسۡتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمۡ يَلۡعَبُونَ

Transliteration:( Maa ya'teehim min zikrim mir Rabbihim muhdasin illas tama'oohu wa hum yal'aboon )

2. Whenever any admonition [3] comes to them from their Lord, they hear it not but playing[4]. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(2) No mention [i.e., revelation] comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play (Saheen International Translation)

3.The book of Allah Almighty is eternal. but its coming to us is new. Here it is referred to as an innovater (Mohdith) due to its coming. 

4. This means these infidels, do not listen to the Holy QUR'AAN with the correct intention. They listen to it attentively only to make fun of it and to reject it. Thus, there is no inconsistency between "hearing" and "jesting".

3. “New revelation”: A new Surah of the Quran.
