Transliteration:( La uqatti'anna aidiyakum wa arjulakum min khilaafin summa la usallibannakum ajma'een )
I shall certainly cut off your hands and your feet on alternate sides, then I shall crucify you all (258).
In a display of tyranny and desperation, Pharaoh threatened the believing magicians with mutilation and public crucifixion to make them an example for others. He ordered their hands and feet to be cut off on opposite sides, followed by crucifixion on palm trees along the riverbanks. According to Tafseer Roohul Bayaan, Pharaoh is considered the first to invent crucifixion as a method of punishment. His intent was to intimidate others from embracing faith. In contrast, Islamic law prescribes specific punishments for robbery, including execution or crucifixion, but always based on justice, not tyranny.
