📖 Commentary on Surah Al-A‘raaf – Verse 128

Musa said to his people: "Seek help from Allah and be patient (267). Surely, the earth belongs to Allah. He grants it as an inheritance to whomsoever He wills from His servants. And the final outcome is for the pious (268)."

✅ Patience in the Face of Oppression (267)

When the Israelites learned that Pharaoh would begin executing their sons again, they were filled with deep anxiety and fear. This was no longer about preventing Musa’s birth—that purpose had passed. Now, Pharaoh’s cruelty was aimed only at maintaining his ego and dominance. In this moment of despair, Musa (peace be upon him) consoled his people and urged them to seek Allah’s help with patience, reminding them that divine justice would prevail.

✅ The Earth Belongs to Allah, Not Tyrants (268)

Musa assured them that all land and power belong to Allah, and He grants rule and dominion to whom He wills. This was a glimpse of hope—that if they remained steadfast and righteous, they themselves would one day become the rulers of Egypt. Indeed, Pharaoh had enjoyed 320 years of comfort out of his 400-year lifespan, but ultimately, Divine punishment overtook him. The verse teaches that the final victory always belongs to the pious, not the oppressors.
