289. In that, the Israelites were made the owners of the entire Egypt after the Pharaoh was drowned. Here, the word earth denotes Egypt or Syria, while North and South indicate its entire territory. By inheritance, it meant becoming the owner after the Pharaoh. Thus, there can be no objection to this verse which some ignorant people have raised, due to their lack of understanding.
290. Blessing of both this world and the Hereafter because in the Syrian territory fruit and vegetables are found in abundance, as well as the resting place of many Prophets of Allah Almighty, and the staircase for our Holy Journey Prophet's (Al Me'raj) which began from here.
291. Because Allah Almighty fulfilled all the promises of Hazrat Musa (On whom be peace) which He had made to the Israelites. This tells us that Allah Almighty fulfills the promises of His Prophets.
292. From this, we learn that the Israelites settled in Egypt after a long time. When the building and gardens of Pharaoh's people had been destroyed, they did not use these. Remember, this destruction came as a result of desolation, otherwise Divine punishments had not have been sent to Egypt.

The tafsir of Surah Al-A’raf verse 137 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah A’raf ayat 136 which provides the complete commentary from verse 136 through 137.
(7:137) And We made those who had been persecuted inherit the eastern and western lands which We had blessed.[97] Thus your Lord’s gracious promise was fulfilled to the Children of Israel, for they had endured with patience; and We destroyed all that Pharaoh and his people had wrought, and all that they had built.
97. The Israelites were made the inheritors of Palestine. This has been interpreted by some commentators of the Qur’an to mean that the Israelites were made the rulers of Egypt as well. This view, however, is neither supported by, the Qur’an nor by any other historical and archaeological evidence. We have, therefore, serious reservations about the correctness of this opinion.
