📖 Commentary of Surah Al-A’raaf – Verse 14

"He (Iblis) said, 'Grant me respite until the Day they are resurrected' [22]."

Respite Requested Until Final Resurrection [22]

Until the Day they are resurrected” refers to the blowing of the second trumpet, i.e., until the Day of Qiyamah, when all will be raised from their graves. Iblis is requesting not to experience death until that moment, as that will not be a time of death, but a time of universal resurrection.
