    📖 Commentary of Surah Al-A’raaf – Verse 15

    "He (Allah) said: 'You are given time' [23]."

    ✅ Respite Until the First Trumpet and the Power of Supplication [23]

    By this is meant: You (Satan) have been granted respite until the blowing of the first trumpet. When the first trumpet is blown, Satan will be destroyed along with the rest of creation. Thus, Allah Almighty accepted Satan’s request, but with certain modifications.

    From this emerge two important points:

    1. Some prayers of the infidels are accepted. Observe—Satan’s prayer was accepted, though it was altered in its outcome.

    2. Prayer increases one’s span of life. If the accursed Satan’s life was extended through his prayer, then it is no surprise that the prayers of Prophets, Saints, and pious individuals, along with certain good deeds, can also increase a person’s life span.
