Transliteration:( Wa lammaa sakata 'an Moosal ghadabu akhazal alwaaha wa fee nuskhatihaa hudanw wa rahmatul lil lazeena hum li Rabbihim yarhaboon )
335. From this we learn that Hazrat Musa (On whom be peace) was so infuriated that it created a condition of utter absorption, and whatever came to pass was in this condition. As soon as this condition was over Hazrat Musa (On whom be peace) picked up the tablets with a great deal of respect. This tells us that during a state of total absorption if the sacred Book of Allah were to fall out of one's hand one will not be a sinner.
336. This tells us that after this throwing of the tablets when Hazrat Musa (On whom be peace) picked up the Tauraat, details of everything was erased, only guidance and mercy remained. Otherwise when the Tauraat was given to him at Mount Sinai it contained details of everything as was explained earlier. We also learn that the Holy QUR'AAN had been revealed not only to provide detail on everything, but it has been preserved for all times as well. while the Tauraat was first an exposition of detail, but it did not remain. Hence, there is no inconsistency in the verse.
Â
154. And when the anger of Musa calmed, he took up the Tablets; and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who fear their Lord.
Allah said next,
(And when calmed) and subsided,
(the anger of Musa) with his people,
(he took up the Tablets), which he had thrown out of jealousy for Allah and anger for His sake, because of his people worshipping the calf,
(and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who fear their Lord.) Several scholars of Tafsir said that when Musa threw the Tablets on the ground they were shattered and he collected the pieces afterwards. Musa found in its inscription guidance and mercy, but the specific details of the Law was lost, so they said. They also claimed that the shattered pieces of the Tablets still remained in the treasury safes of some Israelite kings until the Islamic State came into existence. Only Allah knows if these statements are true.
(7:154) And when the anger of Moses was stilled, he took up the Tablets again, the text of which comprised guidance and mercy to those who fear their Lord.
