    📖 Commentary on Surah Al-A‘raaf – Verse 99

    Are they unaware of the secret plan of Allah? And none feels secure from the secret plan of Allah except the losers (233).

    ✅ False Sense of Security is Self-Destructive [233]

    This verse warns against becoming complacent and overconfident in the face of Allah’s patience. When sinners are not immediately punished, they may assume they are safe — this is a grave mistake. The "secret plan of Allah" refers to His method of delaying punishment as a test, allowing the sinner to either repent or accumulate more guilt. Those who continue sinning, feeling secure and untouched, are truly among the losers, because they fail to see the warning signs. A heart empty of Allah’s fear and heedless of His Prophet ﷺ is a heart on the path to destruction.

    78. The expression makr signifies a secret strategy of which the victim has no inkling until the decisive blow is struck. Until then, the victim is under the illusion that everything is in good order.

    (99) Then, did they feel secure from the plan of Allāh? But no one feels secure from the plan of Allāh except the losing people.
