Quran Quote  :  The time of people's reckoning has drawn near, and yet they turn aside in heedlessness. - 21:1

Quran-2:148 Surah Al-baqarah English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Wa likullinw wijhatun huwa muwalleehaa fastabiqul khairaat; ayna maa takoonoo yaati bikumullaahu jamee'aa; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in qadeer )

148. For every person there is a direction [309] to which he faces, so strive to surpass [310] others in doing good deeds. Wherever you may be—Allah will bring you forth altogether [311]. Verily, Allah has power over everything. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(148) For each [religious following] is a [prayer] direction toward which it faces. So race to [all that is] good. Wherever you may be, Allāh will bring you forth [for judgement] all together. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent. (Saheen International Translation)

Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 148 Tafsir (Commentry)

309. By this it is meant that the Qibla of the body is the Ka'bah. The Qibla of the heart is the Holy Prophet. Qibla of the carnal life is the devil. The entire world and its people have direction towards which they turn when engaged in worship.

310. From the word "strive to surpass" we learn that it is permissible to surpass one another in religious deeds. The desire to amass virtues is commendable but greed in material matters is contemptuous religious issue. If anyone sitting in the first row in the mosque offers his place to a latecomer out of respect and religious obligation, it is permissible, but if it is done out of any other consideration, it will be a baseless act.
311. This verse "Bring you all together" intimates the following In the beginning of the Day of Judgement, first all will be together, believers and non-believers alike, that's why it is known as Hashar, or towards the end each will be with his own group i.e. the Believer will be with the Believers, the non-believers will be with the non-believers. For this reason it is called the Day of Separation or Day of Harvest. Says Allah Almighty "And today, be separate, O you culprits" (S36: V59).

The tafsir of Surah Baqarah verse 147 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Baqarah ayat 146 which provides the complete commentary from verse 146 through 147.

(2:148) Everyone has a direction towards which he turns; so excel one another in good works.[149] Allah will bring you all together wherever you might be, for nothing is beyond His power.

Ala-Maududi

(2:148) Everyone has a direction towards which he turns; so excel one another in good works.[149] Allah will bring you all together wherever you might be, for nothing is beyond His power.

149. There is a subtle gap between this sentence and the next, a gap which the reader can fill with just a little reflection. The idea conveyed here is that anyone who prays will, after all, have to turn his face in some direction. But what is of real significance is not the turning of one’s face in some specific direction but one’s orientation to righteousness for the sake of which one performs the ritual Prayer. A man’s real concern should be moral excellence rather than controversies regarding such formal regulations as the direction of Prayer.

(148) For each [religious following] is a [prayer] direction toward which it faces. So race to [all that is] good. Wherever you may be, Allāh will bring you forth [for judgement] all together. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent.
