6. When They Will Be Seated Over It
📖 Tafseer (Commentary) of Ayah 85:6
🔹 Historical Background:
A cruel king ruled Syria before the advent of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, relying on a magician to maintain his power. When the magician aged, he asked the king to appoint a youth to learn his magic. A boy was chosen and sent to him.
✅ The Boy’s Journey to Faith:
- On his way, the boy met a Christian priest, whose teachings enlightened his heart.
- One day, he encountered a giant snake blocking the path. He prayed:
"O Allah! If the priest’s religion is true, destroy this snake."
- The snake was instantly killed, proving the truth of faith.
- His prayers began to heal the sick, leading people to accept faith in Hazrat Isa (علیہ السلام).
✅ The King’s Tyranny:
- The king’s Prime Minister, after regaining sight through the boy’s prayer, embraced faith.
- The king interrogated him and executed him and the priest for refusing to renounce faith.
- The king tried to kill the boy by:
- Throwing him off a mountain – but Allah saved him.
- Drowning him in the sea – but Allah protected him.
✅ The Boy’s Martyrdom and Mass Conversion:
- The boy advised the king:
"If you want to kill me, gather the people and say: 'In the name of Allah, the Lord of this servant,' before shooting me."
- The king did so, and the boy was martyred.
- Seeing this, the entire crowd accepted faith, enraging the king.
- The king burned the believers alive in trenches filled with fire.
✅ The Baby’s Testimony:
- A woman with an infant hesitated, but her baby miraculously spoke:
"O mother, do not hesitate. This is not fire; it is light!"
- Flames rose from the fire, burning the king and his men to ashes.
- This incident is mentioned in Sahih Muslim, Tafseer Azizi, and Khazain.
