20. In it, the entire creation until the Day of Judgement is addressed. From it, two issues emerge:
1. The obedience of the Holy Prophet ? is obligatory upon every creation.
2. Our faith is dependent on the Holy Prophet's Testimony glad tidings and but not the faith of the Holy Prophet.
21. From this we understand every form of respect which is not against the teachings of Islam is permissible for the Holy Prophet giving him qualities of divinity, and addressing him with all words of respect and honor. Do not prostrate to him, but other than that show him the highest form of loftiness because in this verse there is no restriction placed on the word 'honor'. Imam Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) never rode on a horse on the earth of Madina Munawwarah out of respect for the Holy Prophet ?
22. This means establishing the five daily prayers regularly. In the glorification of the morning, Fajr Salaah is denoted while the other four Salaahs are included in the glorification of the evening.
The tafsir of Surah Fath verse 9 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Fath ayat 8 which provides the complete commentary from verse 8 through 10.
(48:9) so that (all of) you may all believe in Allah and His Messenger, and support him, and revere him, and celebrate Allah’s glory, morning and evening.[16]
16. According to some commentators the verse means: “And help the Messenger, and honor him, and glorify Allah morning and evening”, and according to others: “And help Allah, and honor Him and glorify Him morning and evening.”
Glorifying Allah morning and evening does not mean glorifying Him only in the morning and the evening but at all times. It is just like saying about something that it is well-known in the east and the west when one actually means to say that it is well-known everywhere in the world.
