Transliteration:( La'in ukhrijoo laa yakhrujoona ma'ahum wa la'in qootiloo laa yansuroonahum wa la'in nasaroohum la yuwallunnal adbaara summa laa yunsaroon )
“Certainly, if they are turned out, they will not go out with them, and if they are fought against, they will not help [41] them and will turn [42] their backs on them. But then they shall not be helpers.”
When the Banu Nazeer were banished from Madina, none of the hypocrites who had promised support went with them. Similarly, when battles later took place with other Jewish tribes—like the Banu Quraizah—and they were put to the sword, no help came from the hypocrites.
This proves that Allah’s prediction was true—their loyalty and promises were false, and their support was nothing but words.
Even if the hypocrites had tried to assist the Jews, they would have eventually fled, turning their backs in fear.
And once their false belief and disloyalty were exposed, they would be left without any helpers. The disbelievers themselves would have escaped, abandoning them completely, leaving them to suffer alone.
