Transliteration:( Assaabireena wassaa diqeena walqaaniteena walmunfiqeena walmus taghfireena bil as-har )
"They are the steadfast, the obedient, and the humble; those who spend (in the way of Allah) and those who seek forgiveness in the early hours of the morning [34]."
This verse outlines the key qualities of the righteous believers—they are patient, obedient to Allah, humble in their conduct, generous in charity, and most notably, they engage in seeking forgiveness (Istighfaar) at dawn, a time of immense spiritual value.
From this verse, the following lessons emerge:
Istighfaar (seeking forgiveness) during the early hours before sunrise (dawn) holds a special status. This is the time when all of creation glorifies Allah, except for dogs.
This collective glorification creates a spiritually charged atmosphere, enhancing the likelihood of du‘a being accepted.
The early dawn (Sahar) is defined as the period before sunrise, particularly after the Sunnah of Fajr and the Fard prayer. During this time, it is recommended to recite Istighfaar at least seventy times.
The benefits of Istighfaar at this time are profound:
It is a means of increasing sustenance (rizq).
It brings about unity, spiritual healing, and stability in one’s flawed or disturbed life.
It serves as a symbol of sincerity, since a person who wakes up and humbles themselves before Allah at such an hour truly demonstrates devotion.
The collective impact is also notable—if even one person's repentance is accepted, then by the Grace and Mercy of Allah, the prayers of many others may also be accepted in that blessed moment.
This verse beautifully links personal discipline (sabr), devotion (obedience), humility, charity, and repentance, culminating in the serene practice of pre-dawn Istighfaar—a hallmark of the spiritually awakened.

(3:17) men who are steadfast,[13] truthful, obedient, spend (in the way of Allah) and implore the forgiveness of Allah before daybreak.
13. That is, they are those who remain steadfast in the cause of Truth; who do not lose heart when they either suffer losses or are subjected to afflictions; who do not despair when they encounter reverses; who are not seduced by temptations. They are the ones who remain faithful to the Truth, even when it apparently stands no chance of prevailing see also (Surah Al-Baqarah, ayat 45) note 60
