Transliteration:( Mataa'un qaleelun summa ma'waahum Jahannam; wa bi'sal mihaad )
This verse was revealed in response to the Muslim complaint that, while they were enduring poverty and hardship, the non-believers were enjoying a life of luxury. The Muslims expressed their frustration to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), questioning why they had to suffer while the non-believers appeared to thrive. In this context, the verse informs Muslims that the luxury enjoyed by non-believers is akin to sugarcoated poison, suggesting that it is deceptive and ultimately harmful. Therefore, they should not be misled by the outward appearance of prosperity, as true success lies in faith and the rewards of the Hereafter.
