Transliteration:( Wa inna 'alaikum lahaa fizeen )
"And surely, guardians have been appointed over you."
The Role of Guardian Angels
From this verse, several important points emerge:
Angels Assigned for Protection and Deeds – Allah has appointed angels to safeguard human lives and record their deeds. Sixty angels protect lives, while four angels record deeds—two during the day and two during the night.
Angels Are Assigned Only to Humans – These guardian angels are specifically assigned to humans, not to other creations, which is why the verse emphasizes "upon you."
Angels as a Means of Allah’s Protection – While ultimate protection comes from Allah, He assigns angels as His agents. Just as angels protect, it is also permissible to say that the Holy Prophet ﷺ safeguards and helps his followers in times of hardship.
Respect for the Presence of Angels – A person should avoid evil places and sinful environments so that these pure angels do not have to accompany them to such locations.
