Quran Quote  :  Allah will surely sort out who are the believers and who are the hypocrites - 29:11

Quran-17:39 Surah Al-isra English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Zaalika mimmaaa awhaaa ilaika Rabbuka minal hikmah; wa laa taj'al ma'allaahi ilaahan aakhara fatulqaa fee Jahannama maloomam mad hooraa )

39.This is of those revelations, which your Lord has sent to you with wisdom [90]. And do not put with Allah any other god, lest you will be thrown in Hell taunted, being banished [91]. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(39) That is from what your Lord has revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], of wisdom. And, [O mankind], do not make [as equal] with Allāh another deity, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished. (Saheen International Translation)

Surah Al-Isra Ayat 39 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi
  • Shaheen International

90. Here the word wisdom denotes those laws which are acceptable to even a sound mind. Hazrat Alli (May Allah be pleased with him) says ever since my eyes beheld the Holy Prophet ? I had never cast a  glance on my private parts. Hazrat Uthman (May Allah be pleased with him) says ever since I accepted Islam I had never uttered a word of lie. A king never sits in a dirty rubbish place. Can the light of faith be found in a sinful heart and false tongue? (Tafseer Roohul Bayaan).

91. From this we learn that Allah Almighty will protect the sinful believer from all types of taunting remarks and paralysing fear in Hell. He will not embarrass him, as both of these are punishments set aside for the infidels. "Those who do not bear to expose the faults of anyone in this world, How will they desire to embarrass me on the Day of Judgement?

Ibn-Kathir

39. This is (part) of Al-Hikmah (wisdom) which your Lord has revealed to you. And set not up with Allah any other god lest you should be thrown into Hell, blameworthy and rejected (from Allah’s mercy).

Everything previously mentioned is Revelation and Wisdom

Allah says: `What We have commanded you to do is part of good manners, and what We have forbidden you are evil qualities. We have revealed this to you, O Muhammad, so that you may command the people likewise.’

﴿وَلاَ تَجْعَلْ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَـهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتُلْقَى فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَلُومًا﴾

(And set not up with Allah any other god lest you should be thrown into Hell, blameworthy) meaning, your own self will blame you, as will Allah and His creation.

﴿مَّدْحُورًا﴾

(rejected) means far removed from everything good. Ibn `Abbas and Qatadah said: “(It means) cast out.” This is an address to the Ummah via the Messenger , for he is infallible.

(17:39) That is part of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you. So do not set up any deity beside Allah lest you are cast into Hell, rebuked and deprived of every good.[45]

Ala-Maududi

(17:39) That is part of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you. So do not set up any deity beside Allah lest you are cast into Hell, rebuked and deprived of every good.[45]

45. Though this has been addressed to the Prophet (peace be upon him), the real addressee is every human being as in the case of many such verses.

(39) That is from what your Lord has revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], of wisdom. And, [O mankind], do not make [as equal] with Allāh another deity, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished.
