📖 Commentary of Surah Al-Isra’ – Verse 72

"And whoever is blind in this [world], he will be blind in the Hereafter, and more astray from the path."

✅ [159] Blindness of the Heart

This verse refers to spiritual blindness, not physical:

  • The one whose heart was sealed and refused to accept guidance in the world—

    • He will be deprived of spiritual insight in the Hereafter.

    • He will be even more astray, unable to see the path to salvation or Paradise.

This blindness in the Hereafter will be more severe, because:

  • In the world, there was always the possibility of repentance and receiving guidance.

  • But in the Hereafter, that opportunity ends—guidance is no longer offered, and reality is enforced.

🔸 This does not contradict the verse:

"So today your sight is sharp" (Surah Qaf 50:22)

—Because that verse refers to the physical vision, which will indeed become sharp and clear. However, the spiritual blindness will remain or intensify in the disbelievers.
