5. Explanation of the Surah's Message

The Holy Prophet ﷺ assured that even in his future, he would never engage in polytheism. The Surah highlights the following ways through which a person may go astray:

  1. Unawareness of the True Religion
Some people go astray due to ignorance of the true religion. However, the Holy Prophet ﷺ was fully aware of the truth from birth.

  2. Misguidance of the Baser Self (Nafs e Ammarah)
The baser self, which inclines toward evil, can lead a person astray. The Holy Prophet ﷺ was free from such inclinations.

  3. Misguidance of the Devil
The devil misguides many, but the Holy Prophet ﷺ was protected from the influence of the devil.

  4. Misguidance Due to Evil Company
Evil company can lead a person astray. However, the Holy Prophet ﷺ was always surrounded by the Divine presence of Allah, and his character was deeply imbued with the colors of Allah’s guidance. Therefore, there was no possibility of misguidance for him.

Key Lessons:

  1. Strictness in Religious Matters
In worldly matters, a person may adopt leniency, but in matters of religion, one must be firm and strict. This ensures that the infidels will become despondent and lose any hope of compromising the faith of a believer (Tafseer Roohul Bayaan).

  2. Certainty in the Holy Prophet’s Future
The Holy Prophet ﷺ was fully aware of his future and was certain that he would never indulge in infidelity, polytheism, or transgression. His awareness and protection from these evils are part of the Divine plan.

  3. Making the Infidels Despondent
A believer should demonstrate such steadfastness in faith that the infidels lose any hope of leading them astray. This reflects a strong commitment to the truth of Islam, showing that no compromise is possible in matters of faith.
