    8. "And those who become misers [6] and independent [7]."

    Key Insights:

    1. Misers Like Umayyah bin Khalaf [6]:
      • Umayyah bin Khalaf is identified as one who spent his wealth to oppose Islam.
      • Spending wealth on forbidden or harmful causes is described as miserliness in its worst form. It is a misuse of resources that could otherwise be directed toward righteous and constructive purposes.
    1. Self-Perceived Independence [7]:
      • Umayyah bin Khalaf regarded himself as self-sufficient and independent of any need for the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ or divine guidance.
      • This attitude is portrayed as arrogance and the path of infidels.
    1. Dependency on the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
      • The contrasting attitude of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (May Allah be pleased with him) serves as the ideal model. He recognized his dependence on the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ at all times.
      • Even the Sacred Ka'bah itself is portrayed as being dependent on the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
        • The Qibla was established to please the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
        • It was purified of idols through his efforts.

    Lessons Learned:

    1. True Generosity:

      • Spending wealth for forbidden or destructive purposes is not generosity but a form of miserliness. True generosity lies in using wealth and resources for righteous deeds and the betterment of society.

    2. Dependence on Prophetic Guidance:

      • The way of the righteous is to acknowledge their dependence on the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ for spiritual guidance and divine mercy.

    3. Pride and Arrogance:

      • The attitude of self-perceived independence from divine guidance leads to ruin, as exemplified by the actions of Umayyah bin Khalaf.

    This verse underscores the stark contrast between the righteous (Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique) and the transgressors (Umayyah bin Khalaf), emphasizing humility, generosity, and adherence to prophetic guidance as key virtues.
