Quran-5:104 Surah Al-maidah English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Wa izaa qeela lahum ta'aalaw ilaa maaa anzalallaahu wa ilar Rasooli qaaloo hasbunaa maa wajadnaa 'alaihi aabaaa'anaa; awa law kaana aabaaa'uhum laa ya'lamoona shai'anw wa laa yahtadoon )

104. And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger" [278], they say, "Sufficient for us is what we found our forefathers upon." What! Even if their forefathers knew nothing and were not guided [279]? (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(104) And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allāh has revealed and to the Messenger," they say, "Sufficient for us is that upon which we found our fathers." Even though their fathers knew nothing, nor were they guided? (Saheen International Translation)

278 From this we learn that it is not sufficient merely to accept the QURAN, but it is important to accept the Beloved Prophet unto whom the QURAN was revealed ie. with the QURAN it is important to accept the Hadith as well. True guidance will be revealed when one has the QURAN in hand only the Holy Prophet in his heart.

 279. From this one learns that accepting the customs of ignorant forefathers which are contrary to the Holy Quran are the ways of the non-believers. It is absolutely important that we should follow the way of life of the pious. Says Allah Almighty: "And be with the truthful" (S9:V119) For this reason the verse places restrictions with "they knew nothing" and "they were not guided."
