Quran-5:114 Surah Al-maidah English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Qaala 'Eesab nu Maryamal laahumma Rabbanaaa anzil 'alainaa maaa'idatam minas samaaa'i takoonu lanaa 'eedal li awwalinaa wa aakhirinaa wa Aayatam minka warzuqnaa wa Anta khairur raaziqeen )

114. Isa, son of Mariam, said: "O Allah, our Lord! Send down to us a table spread with food from heaven, that it may be a festival for us, for the first and last of us [312], and a sign from You. And provide for us, for You are the Best of Providers [313]." (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(114) Said Jesus, the son of Mary, "O Allāh, our Lord, send down to us a table [spread with food] from the heaven to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, and You are the best of providers." (Saheen International Translation)

312. Celebrating the Prophet's Birthday

From this, we learn that celebrating the day of the Holy Prophet's blessed birthday is proven through a Prophet, as the Holy Prophet's birth is a greater blessing than the tray of food sent down to Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him). This incident also helps to prove the permissibility of celebrating specific days of Allah's bounties and referring to these days as blessed days, as it is the way of the Prophets. Appointing fixed days is also a practice of the Prophets. The significant day for Christians commemorates this very event.

313. The Meaning of "Sustainer"

There are three meanings of the word "Sustainer":

  1. The Giver of sustenance.
  2. Creator of sustenance.
  3. The Supplier of sustenance.

In this context, the third meaning is intended. Those who outwardly supply sustenance to others and are a means of their sustenance, e.g., the rich who provide for the poor, and the ruler to his subjects, are considered the outward means of supplying sustenance. Of course, Allah Almighty is the true and absolute provider of sustenance as He is the causer of causes.

From this, we learn that it is better to supplicate to the pious for the fulfillment of your desires because the disciples of Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him) did not pray themselves for the tray of food but asked Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him) to pray for it. For dua to be effective, you require both the correct impression created through words and tongue; to feel the effect of the bullet, you require a rifle.
