Quran-5:22 Surah Al-maidah English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Qaaloo yaa Moosaaa innaa feehaa qawman jabbaareena wa innaa lan nadkhulahaa hattaa yakhrujoo minhaa fa-iny yakhrujoo minhaa fa innaa daakhiloon )

22.They said: O Musa! In it are powerful people [84], and indeed we will never enter it until they go forth from it [85]. So if they leave, then we will enter. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(22) They said, "O Moses, indeed within it is a people of tyrannical strength, and indeed, we will never enter it until they leave it; but if they leave it, then we will enter." (Saheen International Translation)

Surah Al-Maidah Ayat 22 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi
  • Shaheen International

84. The people of Jabbareen were so huge in physique that an Israeli would fit in just one shoe of theirs. Hazrat Moosa (On whom be peace) had sent twelve chiefs to investigate about their condition. From them ten informed the Israelites about their actual physique which instilled fear in them and said In there are most powerful people." (Tafseer Ruhul Bayaan).

85.From this we learn that a command is there for obligatory things because the utterance of 'Go forth' was an act of disobedience on the part of the Israelites for which they were inflicted with different types of punishments.
