Transliteration:( Qaaloo yaa Moosaaa innaa feehaa qawman jabbaareena wa innaa lan nadkhulahaa hattaa yakhrujoo minhaa fa-iny yakhrujoo minhaa fa innaa daakhiloon )
They said: O Musa! In it are powerful people [84], and indeed we will never enter it until they go forth from it [85]. So if they leave, then we will enter.
The people of Jabbareen were so huge in physique that an Israelite could fit into just one shoe of theirs. Hazrat Musa (on whom be peace) had sent twelve chiefs to investigate their condition. Ten of these chiefs reported the reality of their intimidating size and strength, which instilled fear in the Israelites. They said, "In there are most powerful people" (Tafseer Ruhul Bayaan).
From this, we learn that the phrase "go forth" implied a command related to an obligatory duty. The Israelites’ refusal to comply was an act of disobedience, for which they were subsequently punished with various consequences.
