Surah Al-Maidah Ayat 88 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi
  • Shaheen International

243 Lawful things are those which cannot become unlawful Pure things are those which cannot become dirty Saliva, mucus, etc are not unlawful but lawful things, but they are not clean. Thus, tasty and sumptuous things are good i.e. eat them as much as you can provided they are lawful.

244. By this, it means to eat as many of the wholesome things but always fear Allah Almighty. Do not be negligent of pious deeds. The world is like a zero, if it is empty of religion it is useless, but if it is with religion it increases by tenfold.
