    Transliteration:( Qaalooo 'a-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaabanw wa 'izaaman 'a-innaa lamab 'oosoon )

    82. They said, 'What! When we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we Indeed be raised up again? [118] (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

    (82) They said, "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? (Saheen International Translation)

    118. This is a question of contradiction i.e. this can never happen because the previous Prophets had made the promise of the Day of Judgement to our forefathers, but it had not come. From this one can understand that some teachings of the previous Prophets had come to them and that they had remembered some of these.

    Ala-Maududi

    (23:82) They say: “Is it that when we are dead and have been reduced to dust and bones, shall we then be raised up again?

    There is no commentary by Abul Maududi available for this verse.

    (82) They said, "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
