Transliteration:( Wa a'oozu bika Rabbi ai-yahduroon )
"And O my Lord, I seek refuge in You lest they come to me [134]." (Kanzul Imaan Translation)
This verse continues the previous du‘ā, emphasizing another layer of seeking divine protection—not just from evil suggestions, but from the very approach or influence of Shayṭān and his forces.
Here, we learn important spiritual principles:
Despite being divinely protected, the Prophet ﷺ still sought refuge, showing the etiquette of humility before Allah.
The teaching of this du‘ā by Allah and its acceptance confirms that Shayṭān has no power or access to the Prophet ﷺ.
This highlights a universal truth: no one—no matter how pious—should feel secure from the devil’s schemes.
If the most perfect of creation sought Allah’s protection from Satan’s presence, then we, the ordinary followers, must do so even more consistently and sincerely.
This verse is thus a powerful reminder and a lesson for the Ummah:
Always seek refuge in Allah—for only He can guard us from the unseen enemies of our faith.
