"And when the Messengers are gathered at their appointed time." (Kanzul Imaan Translation)
This verse refers to the gathering of the Messengers on the Day of Judgment. The Messengers of Allah will be assembled to testify against their communities, witnessing how their people responded to the message they delivered.
This is an important moment when the truth of their missions will be fully revealed, and each Prophet will be called upon to confirm their efforts in delivering Allah’s message to their people.
Surah An-Nisa (4:41): "How will it be when We bring from every nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness against these?" – The Prophets will be witnesses for or against their respective nations, emphasizing their role in giving testimony on Judgment Day.
Surah Al-Ahzab (33:7): "When We took the covenant from the Prophets, and from you (O Muhammad), and from Noah and Abraham, and Moses and Jesus the son of Mary..." – This highlights the unity of the Messengers in their shared mission and will be brought together on the Day of Judgment for testimony.
Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:109): "The Day when Allah will gather the Messengers and say: 'What was the response you received?'" – A scene depicting the questioning of the Messengers, where they will testify about the responses they received from their people.
This verse reflects the solemn testimony that will take place, where the Messengers will be witnesses to their communities' actions and beliefs, making it clear that no one can escape the truth of their actions when the Messengers testify before Allah.

(77:11) and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives,(then shall the promised event come to pass).[6]
6. At several places in the Quran it has been stated that when the case of mankind will be presented before Allah on the Day of Resurrection, the Messenger of every nation will be called upon to testify that he had conveyed Allah’s messages intact to his people. This will be Allah’s first and major argument against the culprits and the wicked people to prove that they were themselves responsible for their wrong attitude and conduct in life, for there had been no negligence on the part of Allah to show guidance and administer warnings . For instance, see (Surah Al-Aaraf, Ayat 172), (Surah Al-Aaraf, Ayat 173) note 134,135; (Surah Az-Zumar, Ayat 69) note 80; (Surah Al-Mulk, Ayat 8) note 14.
[1817]- i.e., when they are gathered to witness concerning their nations. The sentence's conclusion is understood to be "...the promised judgement will then take place."
