📖 Commentary of Verse 22 (Surah Al-Mursalat)

"As the destination for the rebellious."

✅ The Destination for the Rebellious [14]

  • Exceeding the Limits of Shariah:

    • This verse refers to those who exceed the limits set by Shariah in their beliefs and deeds. Rebellion is defined as transcending the boundaries that have been established by Islamic law.

    • Anyone who surpasses the prescribed limits in their beliefs is an infidel (kafir), and anyone who exceeds the limits in their actions becomes a transgressor (fasiq). The rebellious are those who refuse to follow these limits, leading them to the punishment of Hell.

    • The term rebellious is specifically referring to the infidels in this context, as explained in the subsequent verse.

  • Exceptions for Exceeding the Limits in Good Deeds:

    • Exceeding limits in good deeds can be praiseworthy in certain cases. For example, Siddique Akbar (RA) gave his entire wealth for the pleasure of Allah, which is an example of exceeding limits in a positive way.

    • Excessive praise of the Holy Prophet ﷺ or other similar actions is not considered a transgression because there are no limits set for these acts, just like the ocean's water or the sun's light—both of which are limitless.

    • Similarly, the praiseworthy qualities of the Holy Prophet ﷺ are without limits and can be exceeded in praise, but this is not viewed as rebellion, rather as an act of love and respect.
