    60. The conditions of those who do not believe in the hereafter are bad [121], and the Glory of Allah is the Loftiest [122], And He is the Most Powerful and the Most Wise. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

    (60) For those who do not believe in the Hereafter is the description [i.e., an attribute] of evil;[705] and for Allāh is the highest attribute. And He is Exalted in Might, the Wise. (Saheen International Translation)

    📖 Commentary of Surah An-Nahl – Verse 60

    "The conditions of those who do not believe in the Hereafter are bad [121], and the Glory of Allah is the Loftiest [122], and He is the Most Powerful and the Most Wise."

    ✅ [121] Evil Nature of Disbelievers in This World and the Hereafter

    This refers to the wretched condition of those who disbelieve in the Hereafter. In the world, their beliefs and deeds were corrupt—they practiced burying daughters alive, drank alcohol, committed theft, and were miserly. Their life was marked by moral degradation, their death was miserable, and their end in the Hereafter will be utterly ruined and disgraceful.

    ✅ [122] The Supreme Glory of Allah

    This translation—“the Glory of Allah is the Loftiest”—is of deep excellence. The word "like" in such contexts does not indicate analogy or comparison, as Allah Almighty states:

    "There is none like Him."

    Here, it expresses that Allah’s majesty, splendour, and perfection are unparalleled. He is free from all faults, beyond any imperfection, and His glory is exalted above all. He is the embodiment of every perfect attribute, being Al-‘Aziz (Most Powerful) and Al-Hakeem (Most Wise).

    There is no commentary by Abul Maududi available for this verse.
