“And husked [12] grain and fragrant flowers [13].”

It has been created in this way in order to safeguard the grain in the chaff and so that you can consume the grain and the chaff as a fodder for your animals. The great Sufi saints interpret this as the grains being spiritual nourishment, while the chaff represents physical nourishment, feeding the baser self.
These husked grain and fragrant flowers are also seen as spiritual nourishment for the spiritual persons. They are symbolic of the spiritual fruits that help those seeking to nourish their soul and elevate their faith. This spiritual nourishment leads to inner growth, purifying the self and enabling a higher connection with the Divine.
