لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

Transliteration:( Lakunna 'ibaadal laahil mukhlaseen )

169."We would surely have been the chosen [167] devotees of Allah". (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

"We would surely have been the chosen [167] devotees of Allah."

✅ [167] The False Claim of the Disbelievers

This verse captures the false assertion of the disbelievers who claimed that if a heavenly Book had been sent to them, they would have been among the devoted and obedient servants of Allah.

They implied they would not have gone astray or rebelled, unlike the Jews and Christians.

However, when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the Qur'an actually came to them, they rejected the message and did not believe, exposing the insincerity of their claim.
