فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِينٖ

Transliteration:( Fatawalla 'anhum hatta heen )

174. So turn [171] away your face from them for a while. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(174) So, [O Muḥammad], leave them for a time. (Saheen International Translation)

📖 Commentary of Surah As-Saffaat – Verse 174

"So turn [171] away your face from them for a while."

✅ [171] Temporary Restraint from Confrontation

This verse instructs the Prophet ﷺ to temporarily refrain from confronting the disbelievers and to endure their cruelties patiently.

This period of tolerance was until the divine laws concerning Jihad (holy war) were revealed, signaling when active resistance would be permitted.

Thus, this verse was later abrogated by subsequent rulings regarding Jihad, showing the progression in divine legislation according to circumstances.
