📖 Commentary of Surah As-Saffaat – Verse 94

"Then the infidels rushed [94] towards him."

✅ [94] The Idol-Worshippers' Reaction

When the infidels came to know of this incident, they rushed toward Hazrat Ebrahim (peace be upon him) and questioned him, saying:

“Why did you break these idols, which are the object of our worship?”

Their anger reflected their blind devotion and the shock of seeing their so-called gods shattered before their eyes.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah As-Saffat verse 94 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Saffat ayat 88 which provides the complete commentary from verse 88 through 98.

(37:94) whereupon people came to him running.[52]

Ala-Maududi

(37:94) whereupon people came to him running.[52]

52. Here the story has been told in brief. According to the details given in Surah Al-Anbiya, when they returned and found all their idols broken to pieces in the temple, they started making investigations. Some people said that a young man, called Abraham, had been talking such and such things against idol-worship. At this the multitude demanded that he should be immediately seized and brought before them. Therefore, a group of the people went running to him and brought him before the multitude.

(94) Then they [i.e., the people] came toward him, hastening.
