Transliteration:( Wa atee'ul laaha wa atee'ur Rasool; fa in tawallaitum fa innamaa 'alaa Rasoolinal balaaghul mubeen )
29. Acting upon the Holy Qur'aan is obedience to Allah Almighty while acting on Hadith Shareef is obedience to the Prophet of Allah. Or, carrying out obligatory duties is obedience to Allah Almighty and acting on the Sunnah is obedience to the Prophet of Allah. From this verse we learn that obedience to the HolyProphet ? is equally important to obedience to Allah Almighty. Both forms of obedience have been described in a similar manner and connected by the conjunction AND, and not with the letter FA.
30. From this we learn that the world can cause no harm to the Messengers of Allah. They are only duty bound to convey the message of Allah Almighty, which they carry out. And Allah Almighty is fully aware that they have carried out their duty.
The tafsir of Surah At-Taghabun verse 12 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Taghabun ayat 11 which provides the complete commentary from verse 11 through 13.
(64:12) Obey Allah and obey the Messenger. But if you turn away from obedience, (then know that) Our Messenger has no other duty than to clearly convey the Truth.[27]
27. In view of the context, it means: Whatever the circumstances, good or bad, you should remain steadfast to obedience to Allah and His Messenger. But if under the pressure of hardships you turned away from obedience, you would only harm your own selves. The only responsibility of Our Messenger was to guide you to the right path, which the Messenger has fulfilled in the best way possible.
