The Trap of Greed, Lust, and Arrogance
This verse teaches that humans remain trapped in greed, lust, or arrogance until their time of death. The grave is merely one stage of a person's journey, with their final destination being either Paradise or Hell. The use of the phrase "you saw" here emphasizes the realization that comes with facing death and the Hereafter.

The verse also addresses pride in one's deceased predecessors. If graves are visited for the purpose of boasting about family lineage or status, this is prohibited. However, if the purpose is to:
then such acts are permissible. Undertaking journeys to visit the graves of the righteous, such as Madina Shareef or Baghdad Shareef, is also allowed.
The verse further condemns the act of boasting about family connections with worldly leaders, village headmen, or chiefs. Such arrogance is forbidden.
However, being proud of one's association with religious and pious individuals is acceptable. For instance:
