Transliteration:( Thumma kalla sawfa ta'lamoon )
Hazrat Ali Murtaza (رضي الله عنه) stated that the revelation of this verse confirmed for them the certainty of the punishment of the grave. The first part of the verse refers to the punishment in the grave, while the second part speaks about the punishment of the Hereafter (Tafseer Roohul Bayaan).
It is crucial to understand that, in comparison to Barzakh (the period in the grave), the world is like a dream. Similarly, Barzakh is like a dream in comparison to the Hereafter. Believers have a convincing understanding of the Hereafter in this world, but in the grave, their knowledge will be more certain, and on the Day of Judgement, they will have absolute knowledge of it.
Thus, this verse serves as a reminder not only to the disbelievers but also to negligent believers, urging them to be mindful and prepared for the realities of the Hereafter.
