Transliteration:( Qaatiloohum yu'az zibhumul laahu bi aideekum wa yukhzihim wa yansurkum 'alaihim wa yashfi sudoora qawmim mu 'mineen )
"Then fight with them. Allah will punish them at your hands and will humiliate them, and He will help [31] you against them and will heal the hearts of the believers [32]."
This verse commands the believers to engage in combat with those who violated treaties and initiated aggression. Allah promises to:
Punish the disbelievers through the hands of the believers,
Disgrace them, and
Grant the Muslims victory.
History bears witness that Allah fulfilled these promises during the Prophet’s ﷺ life, notably in battles such as Badr, Uhud, and Hunayn. These fulfilled prophecies serve as living miracles of the truthfulness and divine support granted to the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
The verse concludes with a profound psychological and emotional promise: Allah will heal the hearts of the believers.
This teaches that:
Emotional wounds caused by oppression, betrayal, or humiliation can be healed when justice is served.
Retribution, when measured and just, is not only permissible, but at times necessary to restore dignity and peace of mind to the oppressed.
Seeking justice or revenge—as long as it is not excessive or inhumane—is acceptable in Islam when it helps strengthen the morale of the Ummah.
