35. On the day when their treasures will be heated in the fire [87] of Hell, then their foreheads, sides, and backs [88] shall be branded with it. [It will be said:] "This is what you hoarded [89] for yourselves, so taste the penalty of what you were hoarding." (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(35) The Day when it[470] will be heated in the fire of Hell and seared therewith will be their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, [it will be said], "This is what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard." (Saheen International Translation)

Surah At-Tawbah Ayat 35 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi
  • Shaheen International

87. It would be heated in the fire of Hell to such an extent that it will turn white KHAZAIN

88. Because the wealthy misers would frown at the poor, then they would turn away from them. then would show their back towards them. Thus all three limbs of theirs would be branded

89. From this we learn that which is hoarded for the sake of Allah Almighty would not be regarded as bad. Thus there is no Zakaat on wealth that is given in trust, even though they may run into thousands of Rands.

Hoarded for oneself includes accumulating for once children, kith and kin etc, when this is not intented for gaining the soul pleasure of Allah. Almighty.
