Transliteration:( Laqadib taghawul fitnata min qablu wa qallaboo lakal umoora hattaa jaaa'al haqqu wa zahara amrul laahi wa hum kaarihoon )
137. In the Battle of Uhud, prior to the Battle of Tabuk. Abdullah ibn Ubay, in an effort to weaken you, took his three hundred associates from the battlefield at time when the Muslims were really hard pressed. From this we learn that in the case of such a treacherous person one must be ever alert least one falls prey to their deception again. A believer can never be bitten twice by one serpent.Â
138 By this is meant that all the schemes of the hypocrites through the grace of Allah Almighty were rendered in vain. They did their best to make the infidels victorious over the believers but through the bounty of Allah Almighty their effort had the opposite effect: At Uhud the objective of the infidels was not achieved, and at Tabuk they became eager to accept peace, etc. Even today, if the Muslims of the world can become staunch in their beliefs and unity, every of the infidels against them will be rendered useless by the will of Allah Almighty.Â
139. From this we learn that the infidels and the hypocrites show meaningles joy at our happiness. insincerely congratulate the Muslims, but inwardly their hearts burn at the success of the Muslims.
Â
48. Verily, they had plotted sedition before, and had upset matters for you, until the truth (victory) came and the decree of Allah became manifest though they hated it.
(Verily, they had plotted sedition before, and had upset matters for you,) `For a long time,’ Allah says, hypocrites thought and plotted against you and your Companions, as well as, failing and attempting to extinguish your religion.’ This occurred soon after the Prophet migrated to Al-Madinah, when pagan Arabs joined force and the Jews and hypocrites of Al-Madinah waged war against the Messenger . When Allah gave victory to the Prophet in Badr and raised high his word, `Abdullah bin Ubayy and his fellows said, “This (Islam) is a matter that has prevailed.” They embraced Islam outwardly, and whenever Allah elevated Islam and its people in might, hypocrites increased in rage and disappointment,
(until the truth (victory) came and the decree of Allah became manifest though they hated it.)
(9:48) Surely they sought even earlier to stir up sedition, and turned things upside down to frustrate you until the Truth came and the decree of Allah appeared, however hateful this may have been to them.
