    Transliteration:( Radoo bi ai yakoonoo ma'al khawaalifi wa tubi'a 'alaa quloobihim fahum laa yafqahoon )

    87. They like that they should remain with those who stay behind, and their hearts are sealed [239], so that they understand nothing. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

    (87) They were satisfied to be with those who stay behind, and their hearts were sealed over, so they do not understand. (Saheen International Translation)

    📖 Commentary of Surah At-Tawbah – Verse 87

    “They like that they should remain with those who stay behind, and their hearts are sealed [239], so that they understand nothing.”

    ✅ 239. The Seal on Their Hearts

    By this, it is meant that even in the future, these individuals would not accept Islam. The seal on their hearts was placed due to their infidelity and hypocrisy, preventing them from understanding or accepting the truth. Their rejection of the faith led to this spiritual barrier, making them unable to comprehend the message of Islam.

    89. “They do not understand” for they deliberately and intentionally chose the shameful way of staying at home with women, when they were required to go forth for Jihad, though they were healthy, physically fit and well-to-do, and professed Islam. Therefore, according to the divine law of nature, a seal was set upon their hearts and they were bereft of those noble feelings which make one feel ashamed of adopting such a disgraceful conduct.
