Transliteration:( Wa izaa bushshira ahaduhum bimaa daraba lir Rahmaani masalan zalla wajhuhoo muswaddanw wa huwa kazeem )
"And yet, when any of them is given the news that whosoever ascribes the comparison of the Most Affectionate, his face remains darkened and he is inwardly choked [26] with grief."
This verse criticizes the attitude of the disbelievers, who would become visibly upset and internally grieved upon hearing the news of a daughter's birth. Their faces would darken with shame, even though they falsely attributed daughters to Allah.
Such displeasure is the practice of infidels. In contrast, the Prophets prayed for righteous offspring to serve the cause of Islam. Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed, “O Allah, listen to my prayer,” and when his son was born, he named him Ismail, meaning “He who hears,” in remembrance of that accepted supplication.
