Transliteration:( Fantaqamnaa minhum fanzur kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul mukazzibeen (section 2) )
"Therefore, We took retribution [40] from them. Behold! How was the end of the liars [41]!"
Two important lessons emerge here:
Divine punishment only descends after the rejection of a Prophet, regardless of how deep one is in disbelief.
Allah defends His beloved Prophets, and even allows their followers to serve them and earn reward through that service. Supporting a Prophet is a means of divine favour.
This verse addresses the disbelievers of Makkah, who would pass by the ruins of destroyed nations during their trade journeys. It emphasizes that one should reflect on such destruction as a warning. Just as one sees Allah’s punishment, one should also observe the grandeur in the lands of His beloveds, where mercy and honour are manifest.
