Transliteration:( Innal lazeena yatloona Kitabbal laahi wa aqaamus Salaata wa anfaqoo mimmaa razaqnaahum sirranw wa ‘alaa niyatany yarjoona tijaaratal lan taboor )
"Verily those who recite [83] the Book of Allah and establish [84] Salaah and spend [85] out of what We have given them [86], secretly and openly, should hope for a trade in which there is no loss [87]."
This verse shows that reciting the Holy Qur'an is an act of worship—and a great one, since it is mentioned first. Whether one understands its meaning or not, the mere act of recitation is meritorious. Reading the Qur'an for blessing or as a spiritual practice (wazifah) both carry reward. While teaching it to children is rewarded, the rules of proper recitation are not obligatory upon them (Tafseer Roohul Ma'ani).
This means that they recite the Qur'an regularly and consistently as part of their daily practice.
Spending includes Zakat, charity, Hajj, and other forms of financial devotion. The phrase "out of what We have given them" indicates that one is not required to give away everything—provision should also be made for one's family.
Some charities should be public (like obligatory charity) to encourage others, while optional charity is better given privately. Similarly, Jumuʿah and Eid prayers are performed in congregation, while Tahajjud is offered in solitude.
Two key points emerge:
Worship should be purely for Allah, not for fame or recognition.
Never be overconfident in the acceptance of your deeds; rather, hope for their acceptance and fear their rejection. The use of the word "hope" reflects this humility.
29. Verily, those who recite the Book of Allah, and perform the Salah, and spend out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, they hope for a (sure) trade-gain that will never perish. 30. That He may pay them their wages in full, and give them (even) more, out of His grace. Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate.
Here Allah tells us that His believing servants, who recite and believe in His Book, and do the deeds prescribed in it such as establishing regular prayer at the prescribed times, night and day, spending (in charity) out of that which Allah has provided for them secretly and openly,
(they hope for a (sure) trade-gain that will never perish.) means, they hope for a reward from Allah which will inevitably be theirs. Allah says:
(That He may pay them their wages in full, and give them (even) more, out of His grace.) meaning, that He may give them a reward for what they have done, and multiply it by adding more, such as has never occurred to them.
(Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving,) means, He forgives their sins,
(Most Ready to appreciate.) means, He appreciates even a little of their good deeds.
(35:29) Surely those who recite the Book of Allah and establish Prayer and spend, privately and publicly, out of what We have provided them, look forward to a trade that shall suffer no loss;
