Transliteration:( Istikbaaran fil ardi wa makras sayyi’; wa laa yaheequl makrus sayyi’u illaa bi ahlih; fahal yanzuroona illaa sunnatal awwaleen; falan tajida lisunnatil laahi tabdeelanw wa lan tajida lisunnatil laahi tahweela )
125. From this we learn that haughtiness and arrogance are such terrible diseases, which deprive man of following the Prophet. It is means of reaching the court of the Prophets which has to be done with humility and politeness. The cause of infidelity of the infidels of Makah was this very disease that began to regard themselves as better than the Prophet.
Â
They said that we are wealthy, but these are poor.Â
Â
126. This means that instead of following the Holy Prophet, the infidels of Makkah began to play tricks with him.Â
Â
127. This is Divine Law that the tyrant fall prey to his own tricks. Those who dig a whole for others, they themselves fall into it. Observe, the infidels at Badr had come to crush the believers, but they themselves got crushed.
128. Which these infidels were seeing during their journeys to Syria, Iraq, Yemen, etc.
129. It should be remembered that the miracles of the Prophets like the walking stick changing into a snake, being born without a father, not burning in the fire, too, are ways of Allah Almighty and not shifting laws.

Please refer to Surah Fatir ayat 43 which provides the complete commentary from verse 43 through 44.
(35:43) They began to wax even more proud on earth and contrived evil designs although the contriving of evil designs only overtakes their authors. Are they waiting, then, for anything except what happened to the nations before them?[72] You shall not find any change in the Way of Allah; and you shall not find anything that can ever alter the Way of Allah.
72. That is, this Law of Allah that the nation which repudiates its Prophet, is destroyed should be applied in their case as well.
[1257]- i.e., in His punishment of those who deny the prophets. [1258]- Or "transfer" of punishment to others in place of them.
