Transliteration:( Hudanw wa zikraa li ulil albaab )
"As guidance and a reminder for the persons of understanding [138]"
This verse emphasizes that the divine guidance and the Book given to the Children of Israel serve two essential purposes:
As guidance: showing the correct path to follow,
As a reminder: awakening the soul to the truths it already recognizes within.
The benefit of this guidance, however, is limited to the "persons of understanding" — meaning:
Those whose intellect is sound, not merely in worldly matters but especially in recognizing truth from falsehood.
The real intelligence referred to here is not academic brilliance, but spiritual insight that leads a person to submit to Allah and accept prophetic teachings.
Thus, the verse underscores that divine books are only beneficial to those who use their intellect in sincere pursuit of truth and faith.

(40:54) which was a guidance and good counsel to people endowed with understanding and wisdom.[70]
70. That is just as those who disbelieved in Moses (peace be upon him) were deprived of this blessing and the Israelites who believed in him were made heirs to the Book, so will also those who deny you be deprived and only those who believe in you will have the good fortune to inherit the Quran and rise in the world as the standard bearers of guidance.
