Transliteration:( Zaalikumul laahu Rabbukum khaaliqu kulli shai'in; laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa fa annaa tu'fakoon )
"Such is Allah, your Lord, the Creator [158] of everything. None is worthy of worship except He. Where are you turning [159] away?"
This verse affirms that Allah is the Creator of everything—whether big or small, good or seemingly evil. To attribute the act of creation to anyone else, as done by some sects like the Mu'tazilah who claimed man creates his own actions, is to contradict this verse. While the devil is evil, his creation by Allah is not evil—rather, there is divine wisdom behind every creation, even trials and temptations.
Despite this clear truth, people turn away from Allah and worship idols or follow false beliefs, cutting themselves off from their Creator. The straight path is only that which is brought by the Prophets, leading to Allah’s pleasure. All other paths are misguidance, no matter how appealing they may seem.
The tafsir of Surah Muminun verse 62 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Muminun ayat 61 which provides the complete commentary from verse 61 through 65.
(40:62) Allah (Who bestowed all these favours upon you) is your Lord, the Creator of everything. There is no god but He.[86] Whence are you, then, being led astray?[87]
86. That is, the alternation of the night and day has proved that Allah alone is your Creator as well as of everything else, and the great advantage and benefits that accrue from this alternation for your life, prove that He is your highly Beneficent Lord. After this, it automatically follows that He is your real Deity too. For, it would be entirely against reason and justice that your Creator and Provider should be Allah and your deities others.
87. That is, who is misleading you to think that those who are neither the creators nor providers should deserve to be worshiped by you.
